This is the question families ask each other in private and rarely get a straight answer to, and it is the single most important thing to understand before spending several thousand dollars.
Start with the body. A living human is roughly 18 to 19 percent carbon by mass. That figure gets quoted a lot by companies selling diamonds from ashes, and it is accurate, but it describes a living person, not what comes out of a cremation chamber.
Cremation is combustion. A company that redirects to how the diamond is “created from” your loved one has told you something too.
